Dear awesome EIR DES TZ02 students, “Wish You Were Here” by Avril Lavigne reminds me of all of you. Its one of the songs played in class to keep our learning environment alive. Indeed I wish that all of us could be here together to continue on our learning journey. However, we have to accept the reality that our learning journey together in EIR will end today, Friday 20 July 2012. Throughout this short yet meaningful journey together, we have learnt so much about the Internet and issues related to our research findings affecting youths today like narcicism, social activism and linguistic slangs. Besides using the Internet for research purposes, you have used social media to communicate your ideas professionally – you had used #EIRTalkBack effectively when you tweeted about lessons learnt at the end of each lesson and interactively engaged the online community via your awesome Facebook pages. Hey, you all DID it! You all survived EIR despite your hectic workload in your respective Diplomas. Pat yourselves on the back. Indeed, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, stand a little bit taller” than when you first started just a month ago. You are now equipped with the necessary research skills to embark on your new journey in your respective Diplomas. Its hard to say farewell so soon especially when we are just about to get to know one another better. Though physically we are not together in class anymore, I trust that the research fireworks which has been ignited earlier will continue to burn in each one of you. Let this firework continue to light up your life as you continue your study in TP and beyond. I will miss all of you especially your jokes and laughters. Thank you for your warm friendship – the bonding we share will be cherished for a long time to come. Thank you also for all your enthusiastic and active class participation during the face-to-face discussions. I truly appreciate your kind patience in faithfully completing the class activities, despite your other commitments in your personal and academic life. For the groups who have presented yesterday, thank you for sharing your research findings - you all have done a great job:). To the presenters today, I trust that you will do an equally epic-win presentation that will rock the house too. I have had a fantastic and joyful experience interacting and teaching all of you and learning from one another. Our friendship does not have to end with the closure of EIR DES TZ02 class today. We will meet up virtually on our EIR DPA Facebook page, Twitter, email and/or MSN. As a final close to our EIR 2012, I invite all of you to spend 1-minute of your time to autograph a meaningful and inspirational comment/remark about EIR in the comments column of this EIR blog. Please also give us your feedback on EIR via OLIVE. As you end your EIR journey and begin your new journey in your respective Diploma courses, remember to work hard to achieve your dreams by taking good care of your health too. Be inspired by Elvis Presley & Celine Dion’s song “If I Can Dream” and Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey’s song “When You Believe”. You can achieve your dreams when you believe in yourself and what you are doing. Till we meet again in other encounters, I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. Stay Positive & Happy Always! Ms Faridah EIR Subject Leader and Tutor 20 July 2012
